Vastu for your Workspace by Pallavi Chhelavda

The ancient art and science of construction and design, Vastu is evolving with the modern world. Nowadays multi-storeyed buildings are the norm for commercial spaces and incorporating the principles of Vastu becomes quite difficult at times. However the profitability in building according to Vastu drives builders and designers to consult experts on the subject.

One such expert is Pallavi Chhelavda who has more than two decades of experience in Vastu and Fengshui consultation. She has vast experience in giving consultation for residential as well as commercial spaces like offices, shops, factories etc. She is the founder of the Vastu Fengshui Research Institute and a television personality.

Pallavi Chhelavda points out that it is challenging at times to implement Vastu principles to commercial
multi-storeyed buildings. However a Vastu expert can help by suggesting ways to utilise maximum space while following the basic tenets.

As with residential plots, a commercial space needs to be rectangular and the length is to breadth ratio should be 1:1 or 1:2. Both owners and tenants benefit from this kind of construction.

Secondly, open space should be left on the north and eastern sides of the building and in general a lot of open space should be left around the building. Parking should be on the eastern side and lawn on the northern side.

Thirdly, the land should be sloping from the south to north and west to east and the main door should never be in the southwest side. Pallavi Chhelavda also points out that underground water storage should be on the northeast and overhead tanks on the northwest.

Regarding drainage and sanitation, Toilet should be on the southern part of the room and water should be drained towards the north or eastern direction.

An office storage space should be on the southern or western part and stairs constructed in the southern or western part of the building are considered auspicious.

When you invest in a business you want it to be successful. An office built on the principles of Vastu will do exactly that. Draw in positive energy to boost productivity and fight the effects of negative energy.

  1. You must also not sit in line with the door, as you will come in the way of negative energy.
